CONVERSATIONS WE’VE BUILT BEFORE
We do not work from a fixed menu.
Most Overbrained talks start with the room, the people in it, and the thing that is not working. Sometimes that becomes a keynote. Sometimes a workshop. Sometimes a hard conversation that needs more structure than inspiration.
Here are some of the questions and themes we have built sessions around before:
Access without equity is not access.
What happens when an institution can point to accommodations and still leave the person carrying the cost of access?
The hidden workload.
Why capable neurodivergent people can understand the work and still get buried by everything wrapped around it.
When the scaffolding disappears.
College, professional school, new jobs, and other transitions where the expectations rise faster than the structure.
Teaching while neurodivergent.
What the job asks beyond teaching, and how sensory, executive, administrative, and relational load shape whether the work is sustainable.
Parenting when the parent is neurodivergent too.
What changes when the parent’s nervous system, capacity, and executive function are part of the family system too.
Hard tests. Clear maps. No shame.
What high-stakes testing asks beyond knowing the material, and how access changes when we make that machinery visible.
When the system becomes the problem.
What happens when predictable access failures get treated as individual deficits, and what changes when we redesign the environment instead.
These are examples, not a menu.
If your group is dealing with something else, that is usually where we start.
WHAT WE BUILD
We work across keynotes, workshops, panels, staff training, professional development, school and university events, podcast conversations, and facilitated discussions.
But the format comes second.
We can build around a specific audience, a recurring problem, a transition, a system that is breaking down, or a question your organization has not figured out how to ask yet.
We are less interested in delivering the same talk everywhere than in making the conversation useful for the people actually in the room.
PODCASTS + MEDIA
We like conversations that can go somewhere.
Members of the Collective are available for podcasts, interviews, panels, articles, and media conversations about neurodivergence, education, access, parenting, teaching, testing, professional school, literature, and the systems built around all of them.
We are especially interested in conversations that move beyond awareness and into what people are actually experiencing.
If you have read something from Overbrained and want to talk about it, start there.
If you have a question you think the usual conversation keeps avoiding, start there instead.
HAVE AN IDEA THAT DOESN’T FIT A BOX?
Good.
Some of the best Overbrained work starts with somebody saying:
“This thing keeps happening and nobody has language for it.”
Maybe it is not a book.
Maybe it is not a workshop.
Maybe you do not know what it is yet.
Send us the thing.
Tell us what keeps happening. Tell us what you cannot find. Tell us what you wish somebody had made before you needed it.
We can figure out the category later.
Overbrained is a Collective because one neurodivergent experience cannot explain all neurodivergent experience.
We want contradiction. Different brains. Different professions. Different families. Different routes through the same badly explained systems.
You do not need to sound like us before you get here.
You need something worth bringing into the room.
